KUALA LUMPUR (April 16): The Malaysian Timber Industry Board is committed to continue the Bumiputera economic empowerment agenda as its national mission in a continuous effort to develop the timber industry in the country.
In a statement on Saturday (April 16), it said MTIB is always proactive in implementing various activities to strengthen the position of Bumiputera entrepreneurs to be able to compete and be competitive in the local market as well as internationally.
KUCHING, Nov 23 — The Sarawak Legislative Assembly today passed the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) (Amendment) Bill 2022 to allow for new provisions aimed at increasing the state timber export value to RM8 billion by 2030.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Town Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the Bill will pave the way for the state timber industry’s transformation towards value-added and export-oriented economic activities
As part of efforts to support the local design community, the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) – in collaboration with the Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC) and Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) – has completed the first and second edition of the TIMB3R Design Incubator Programme (DIP).
Touted as a first-of-its-kind incubation programme for design and manufacturing of furniture and timber products, the event took place at the Reka Interior Exhibition (RiX) held in Kuala Lumpur at the end of October.
