KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): Price for crude palm oil (CPO) has been gazetted at RM3,575.80 a ton, which incurs the maximum export tax of 8%, according to a statement from the customs department posted on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board's website.

The CPO export tax has been kept at 8% since January 2021.

MINISTER of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin Zuraida (picture) has proposed for Malaysia and Indonesia to proactively pursue their legal recourse filed with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against the EU’s restrictions on palm oil biodiesel.

“I will ensure we put up an ‘aggressive’ fight against these foreign pressures and provide them with all the relevant evidence. We will show them that Malaysia is not a nation to be fooled around with,” Zuraisa said in a statement today.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): Exports of Malaysian sustainable palm oil into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will continue to grow in tandem with the increasing population of the region, said consulting and trading firm Farm Trade.

Its founder Sandeep Singh said many multinational companies had set their footprints in the region and started to import the sustainable flagship of palm oil into the region in a big way.
