KUALA LUMPUR: The impact on Sime Darby Plantation Bhd's share price from Italian confectionary giant Ferrero and Cargill Inc bans of the former's palm oil is just a knee-jerk reaction, analysts said.

The bans were also not expected to significantly affect SD Plantation's financial performance, they said.

BENTONG: The subsidised cooking oil quota of 55,000 tonnes per month or 660,000 tonnes a year has been sufficient so far, says Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng.

However, he said there were complaints received recently about the lack of supply of subsidised cooking oil and his ministry would extend the issue to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry for further action.
