KUALA NERUS, March 28 -- Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) today received a contribution of RM50,000 from the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry to build the COVID-19 Risk Assessment System for Higher Education Institutions (CRASH).


UniSZA vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Hassan Basri said once completed, CRASH which involved a total cost of RM130,000 could be used to reduce the risk of being infected by COVID-19 and track the symptoms of the disease.
“We are thankful for the contribution and concern shown by Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali,” he said in a statement here today.
CRASH is a risk assessment system which uses the IR4.0 (Fourth Industrial Revolution) technology to track COVID-19 infections and manage its risk among students and staff of universities in Malaysia.
The system is being developed by lecturers and researchers from UniSZA’s Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Informatics and Computing and is expected to be ready for use few days before students start their online learning classes.
